My Big Three: Leo Sun, Capricorn Rising, Capricorn Moon.

I was born in Calgary, Alberta, surrounded by the breathtaking Rocky Mountains, and I currently reside in Thunder Bay, Ontario — home of the Sleeping Giant and the Land of the Lakes.

As a child, I spent countless hours gazing up at the vast prairie skies, filled with wonder and curiosity. Even then, I was fascinated by the planets — especially Saturn, the beautiful ringed planet that would later reveal itself as my ruling planet. I still remember asking my mom, “How big is space?” When she replied, “It goes on forever,” my young mind was completely baffled. That sense of awe stayed with me.

As life unfolded, creativity slowly gave way to practicality. My family moved frequently, schooling became the priority, and like many of us, I focused on simply getting through those years. Eventually, my family settled in Northwestern Ontario in 2000, trading mountains and plains for rivers and glass-like lakes — a place that truly shaped the other half of who I am.

After graduating high school, I found myself asking, “Okay… now what?” Encouraged by my parents to pursue stability, I enrolled in a three-year Advanced Business program in Human Resources Management. I graduated in 2005 and quickly stepped into my first HR role — launching a career that I’ve now been in for over 20 years.

Life, however, had other plans.

In my mid-20s, everything I thought was solid began to unravel. During my first Saturn Return — alongside major Pluto transits — I experienced profound loss and transformation. Relationships ended, a home was lost, finances shifted, friendships faded, and I walked away from a toxic work environment. It was my rock-bottom moment — one that humbled me deeply and ultimately cracked me open.

Sitting on the floor of my apartment, wondering how I got there, I realized something had to change. That was when Tarot and Astrology found me — or perhaps when I was finally ready to find them.

Through the encouragement of family and exposure to inspiring teachers and events, my curiosity reignited. In 2012, I began studying Tarot, Astrology, spirituality, and metaphysical topics in earnest. What started as exploration quickly became remembrance. Synchronicities increased, intuition sharpened, and the “knowing” I had felt since childhood finally made sense.

This is only one chapter of my story, but it’s a meaningful one. Our greatest awakenings often arrive through challenge, relationships, and transformation. I’ve learned that planetary cycles — including Saturn Returns and Pluto transits — are not punishments to be feared, but invitations to grow. The universe works for us, not against us, even when the lessons are uncomfortable.

Today, I continue my work in Human Resources while also answering a long-standing call toward the metaphysical world. Ignoring that call no longer feels like an option. This work feels like a return to self — and I sense that this is only the beginning.

Magic and synchronicity are all around us, always. The question is… are you open to them?
